Focus
Harit Vruksha focuses on tree plantation, afforestation, tree protection and long term tree care. The project promotes the importance of trees and encourages communities to participate in increasing and protecting green cover.
Purpose
The purpose is to encourage meaningful tree plantation while creating awareness that planting must be accompanied by proper care and protection. The project aims to involve communities in long term tree conservation.
What We Can Do
The project can organise tree plantation drives, native tree plantation, afforestation activities, school and community plantation programmes, tree adoption initiatives and tree care campaigns. It can also encourage regular watering, protection, monitoring and maintenance of planted trees.
Internship & Experiential Learning
Interns can participate in plantation planning, site identification, tree documentation, species identification, plantation activities, tree monitoring, environmental surveys and community mobilisation. These activities can provide practical exposure to environmental conservation and ecological restoration.
Need of Support
Support is required for saplings, planting materials, protective arrangements, watering, maintenance, transportation, awareness materials and field activities. Community participation and institutional partnerships can help ensure long term survival of planted trees.
Expected Outcome
The project aims to increase tree plantation and community participation in tree conservation while improving awareness about the ecological importance of trees and green spaces.
